Hooked: Fishing Logbook is an offline-first fishing logbook for iPhone. Log a catch in under 30 seconds — even with no signal. Everything stays on your device.

No. Hooked has no account system and works fully offline. The only time it uses the network is to fetch weather and tide conditions for a spot — and it works fine without that.
All your data is stored locally on your device. There is no cloud sync and no server. To keep a copy or move to a new phone, use Settings → Backup → Export data, then Import data on the other device.
On the old phone: Settings → Backup → Export data, and save the file (e.g. to Files or iCloud Drive). On the new phone: install Hooked, then Settings → Backup → Import data and choose that file.
Weather and tides are fetched from online providers and require a location and a network connection at some point during the session. Tides appear for saltwater spots only. Moon phase is always calculated on-device. If you were offline or denied location, that data is simply left out — nothing breaks.
To record where you caught a fish, pin it on your private map, and look up local weather/tides. Location is When In Use only. You can deny it and still log catches by entering a location manually.
Yes. Settings → Units switches between metric and imperial. Settings → Language switches between English and Spanish (it defaults to your device language).
Open Settings → Species region and choose North America. The species list and search will then show US fish (largemouth & smallmouth bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish, trout, pike, and more). Switching region never changes catches you’ve already logged.
Yes. In the species picker, type the name and choose the “use as free text” option to log any species.
No. We don’t collect, sell, or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
