Hooked (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an offline-first fishing logbook. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: your logbook never leaves your device, we have no servers, and we have no account system.
All of the following lives in a local database on your phone and is never sent to us (we operate no backend):
You can export this data to a file you control, and import it on another device, at any time from Settings → Backup. These files are created and shared only when you choose to; we never receive them.
To show conditions, the app may send your approximate location coordinates to the following providers. No name, email, account, or device identifier is sent — only the coordinates needed to return weather or tide data:
These lookups are optional and non-blocking: if you are offline, deny location, or no API key is configured, the app simply omits weather/tide data and keeps working. Moon phase is always calculated on your device with no network call.
We do not control these providers’ handling of request data. Please review their policies. We do not send them anything that identifies you.
Photos and locations are stored locally with your logbook and are not uploaded.
Hooked is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected by us, there is nothing for us to collect from a child.
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control. Deleting a catch, session, or the app itself removes the associated data from your device. We hold no copy and therefore cannot retain or delete data on your behalf — there is none on our side.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and publish the revised version at the same URL.
